Frequently Asked Questions

What is Confessions of the Anxious Girl about?

Confessions of the Anxious Girl is a mental health blog rooted in honesty and vulnerability. Think of it as an open diary—raw, real, and written with the hope that every reader feels seen, heard, and a little less alone.

Why did you start this blog?

I have lived with anxiety and OCD for over 15 years - my journey starting back in high school, during a time when mental health was rarely talked about. Throughout my journey, I found solace in other people’s stories they shared about their own mental health. Their brave stories encouraged me to share my own and start this blog.

Is this blog a substitute for therapy or professional help?

This blog is not a substitute for therapy or professional mental health support. It’s simply a space for honest storytelling—a place where anyone is welcome to share their experiences and feel less alone. While personal stories can be powerful, therapy is an important tool guided by trained professionals with the expertise to help people navigate their mental health journey.

Are you currently in therapy or using any specific treatment methods?

I’ve been in and out of therapy since high school, and it’s been one of the most powerful tools in my mental health journey. Along with therapy, journaling has always been a meaningful outlet for me. Over the years, that habit evolved into something more purposeful, eventually becoming this blog.

How has your faith influenced your mental health journey?

My faith has been one of the most grounding parts of my journey with anxiety and OCD. In some of my posts, I’ll share more about how my faith intersects with my mental health—but one of the most powerful tools I’ve leaned on is simple: prayer. Talking to God has helped me find peace in the chaos and clarity in the confusion. It’s not a cure, but it’s been a constant source of strength.

What types of anxiety or OCD do you write about?

I explore a wide range of mental health topics—from more commonly discussed experiences like phobias, generalized anxiety, and panic attacks, to those that are often misunderstood or considered taboo, such as scrupulosity, borderline personality disorder, and more. I believe every story deserves space, no matter how complex or uncomfortable. To ensure a safe reading experience, each post will include a trigger warning so readers can navigate the content with care.

Can I share your posts with someone who’s struggling?

Absolutely! Please feel free to share any of these posts with someone who might find them helpful. This blog is meant to be an open and welcoming space for anyone on their mental health journey.

Where else can I follow you on social media?

You can also find me on Instagram where I share links to my blog and poems that I write in my spare time. The link to my Instagram is found at the bottom of the page.
